Ophthalmology at VSH

Pets can develop eye problems that may require the care of an eye specialist, including cataracts in dogs, as well as cat and dog eye infections.

The VSH Ophthalmology Team is dedicated to providing the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of veterinary eye diseases and infections. We provide veterinary ophthalmology services for dogs and cats, with the following services and procedures:

  • Slit-lamp biomicroscopy
  • Applanation tonometry
  • Indirect ophthalmoscopy
  • Gonioscopy

  • Eyelid surgery
  • Corneal surgery (including conjunctival pedicle graft, corneoconjunctival scleral transposition graft, VetBIOSIST graft & ACell graft)
  • Third eyelid gland prolapse replacement surgery
  • Cataract surgery by phacoemulsification
  • Electroretinography
  • Gonioshunt surgery
  • Lens luxation surgery and sulcus intraocular lens implantation

At VSH, we provide a variety of ophthalmology services with numerous sophisticated instruments and equipment, including:

  • Handheld slit lamp biomicroscope
  • Indirect ophthalmoscope
  • ERG machine
  • Ocular ultrasound machine
  • Specific operating microscope for ophthalmology
  • A new, state-of-the-art phacoemulsifier for cataract surgery
