Dr. Neil Christensen graduated from veterinary school at The University of Sydney. He then undertook an internship in private practice in Sydney where he fell in love with the challenges of treating cancer in our pets. Following his internship he completed a residency in Veterinary Oncology (medical oncology). During his training in medical oncology, Dr. Christensen spent time learning from the comparative oncology team at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Dr. Christensen subsequently moved to the University of Wisconsin – Madison to undertake a second residency in Radiation Oncology. Following this training, Dr. Christensen was retained by University of Wisconsin – Madison as a Clinical Instructor and then Clinical Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology. Dr. Christensen became board certified as a specialist by the American College of Veterinary Radiology in Radiation Oncology in 2014 and Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Oncology (Medical Oncology) in 2016. This means Dr. Christensen is a specialist in two fields of veterinary oncology. Most recently Dr. Christensen returned to Australia where he ran the radiation oncology service at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital. Dr. Christensen is very proud to have contributed to the training of multiple residents as well as the veterinary oncology literature and textbooks.
