Dr. McBride completed her Bachelor’s veterinary degree at the University of Sydney and pursued a career in general practice and emergency practice throughout Australia. Her passion in Emergency and Critical Care lead her to complete a residency training program with the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC), with a concurrent Masters in Veterinary Medical Science with Murdoch University. She is also board-certified by the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECVECC).
After qualifying as a specialist, she was appointed as a lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College in the United Kingdom while completing post graduate qualifications in veterinary education, where she trained students, veterinary interns, and emergency and critical care residents. She has continued her career working in private and academic teaching hospitals in the UK, Australia and Hong Kong, with special interests in respiratory medicine, geriatric intensive care and sepsis. Dr. McBride has coauthored research papers and textbooks and is an international speaker in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr McBride also holds a Master’s in Healthcare Simulation and Patient Safety from the National University of Ireland and has sat on patient safety committees and trained veterinary professionals on developing a positive workplace culture to improve patient safety.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Dr. McBride enjoys exploring local Hong Kong live music, playing the drums, hiking, swimming and enjoying vegan food.
